- Promoting the business affairs of our members through equitable commercial terms in the industry and promoting access to markets.
- Ensuring that license income is generated from usage of sound and video recordings controlled by our members accrues to rights owners and performers.
- Promoting promotional opportunities and exposure for local music on radio and television (local content).
- Promoting commercial activity for members through online and digital business, and increasing awareness of the FSMA business in the market through marketing, recruitment, and communication.
- Ensuring Free State music is represented nationally and internationally, and promoting Free State cultural identity through music.
- Actively undertaking social and economic transformation in the music industry and participating in structures promoting similar objectives.
- Involvement in projects and programs that seek to promote and develop the cultural and creative sector, not limited to music.
